Edit Room button Grayed Out

I am using Ulead DVD MovieFactory Plus 6.10.0194.6 with the HD pack and Patch 1+2 installed on Vista x64 Ultimate.

After importing AVCH files from my Canon HD camcorder into the program, the majority of buttons gray out -- including Edit room and Join/Separate Video. The file extension of imported movies are .M2TS.

However, when importing movies such as MPEG or AVI, the buttons are no longer grayed out -- but only while those clips are selected.

I upgraded from 5.5 SE version and did not have any issues such as this... reason I am upgrading is that I couldn't burn any DVDs on the older version -- program would run indefinitely encoding up to 99%, but not burn.

Has anyone else experienced the gray-out button issue? What do I do? Is this a feature or a bug?
