Thank you Ken. I will find and disable the Menu In and Menu Out icons.
I now have so many new things to check or change in my Workflows that I think that I should stop testing and compare my Workflows to one that you would recommend.
1. Considering that I'm a novis and that my object is to convert our hour long home movies to edited DVD's, with 6 chapters and Motion Menus, using VS11+, can you direct me to some preferred or recommended workflows?
2. Would the workflow tutorial with sjj1805's name be the preferred one for someone of my limited knowledge and requirments, or is there one with more detail regarding the options available?
VS11+ Excessive rendering and burn time

Not to discount the help from others in any way, but Ken Berry is either, A) Very astute, B) A most attentive reader of questions on this Forum, C) A VideoStudio genius, or D) All of the above. Obviously, I was about to lose it over the frustration of trying to find what was causing the excessive burn time. Ken suggested,
One little thing you might want to look at in the menu creation stage in the burning module, is this. Down in the bottom left corner of the Edit page is an innovation in VS11, and I have found that it slows down my burning stage enormously, and even brought it to a complete halt. Now I never use it.
There are two icons, one above the other, labelled Menu In and Menu Out. Using them is supposed to animate the transition from the menu to a selected video clip. You will see that the Menu In icon is disabled by default (circle with diagonal line through it). But the Menu Out button is enabled. And this was the culprit. Click on the icon and it brings up a choice of animations. Choose the disabling one identical to the default for Menu In. Then proceed to burn. I think you should notice a considerable improvement in the speed.
I did what Ken suggested above and my burn phase for an hour long home movie with or without Motion Menus dropped from approx. 2hr. down to 22 min. And that was with Motion Menus. Thank you Ken.[/i]
