WORKING OUT FILE SIZES

Post by scoop1966 »

Hi,

Just new to using Ulead 10.0 that came with Esycap 2.1c. Using the wizard I pick up some files from the library that Explorer says = 4.0GB. But at the burn window it shows the total size much higher with the only effects added being the menu. After dropping out a file to reduce it still seemed to show it at around 5.0Gb or so when Windows Explorer was showing the total files together to be about 3.5Gb. I went ahead and burned it and it seemed to reduce mid- conversion but a what point I could not tell.

1) Is there away to figure out what will be the correct GB total ahead of the burn page ahead as I don't want to lose 3-4 hours converting only to find it won't fit on the disc. Can I rely on the Windows Explorer file size as a reasonable guide and leave a few 100mb for menus etc.

2) Is this squeezing a larger file to fit and reducing quality when this is happening?.

A second smaller question was I have one particuler video file that plays fine on the source but when imported and played plays audio out of synch and again after it's burned. Any tips as to what sort of files will have this problem or is it trial and error.?

Thanks again for your help and time.
