If you do not intend to use internet then, how will you be able to look at this forum ?

Personally, I do not have XP SP2 and will not install it even though it is supposed to work well with MSP. Indeed, there are many issues that have been raised following installation of the SP2.

Most serious video users have a dedicated computer for video with no other application thereon. My video computer has no means of connection to the Internet and uses XP Pro with no SP whatsoever. My office computer (the only one with an Internet connection) is SP1, but I have heavy non-MS security devices. My third computer is an "odds&sods" one, mainly used for trials is SP2.

That having been said, I've MSP, WS and MF on all three, but on the two non-video ones, they are there only for beta-testing. I don't think I've ever used them for any proper video work. This comparison is necessary for testing with different CPU/chipset/hardware types before the appsa re released to the public.

:D exactly my sentiment, I have a dedicated PC for the video work, does not even have a modem, no firewall or virus scanner either to slow me down. It runs on XP Pro SP1. No hassles. Nothing gets onto this machine without having gone through the laptop I use to do my day to day computing and internet surfing with.

The laptop, however, is running on XP Pro SP2, with a virus scanner and 3rd party firewall.
