VIDEOSTUDIO 11.5 PLUS HDV DISTORTION

When a HD video is copied from Sony hdr-hc1e into VS 11.5 plus, it will play the video OK in the capture or edit screen until you select any item from the adjustment menu on the right of the screen. i.e. if you select to change the brightness, colour, tone, even turn off the audio etc. the pic becomes very grainy. Click 'reset' button and pic returns to normal. this means that I can record HD video but cannot edit it.

Any ideas ??

System is pentium duo 3ghz-4 gigs ram 500gig hard disk into Maxtor 256 video card- Direct x 10

Are you saying that the preview gets grainy .... or does the output still show the grain. You might try outputting part of the filtered clip to a file to see if it looks OK after it is rendered.
