unable to start new video project

Hi,

I'm trialling MovieFactory, well attempting to. I select New Video Project, the menu disappears, then some 20-30 seconds later the same menu reappears. I can't seem to start this at all. I tried this 2 months ago with the same problem...however I've now found tonight that the trial period has expired...but still this is the same problem I had 2 months ago when I got fed up with trying to use this software. Is there any known issues with AMD processors maybe ?? I am running an AM 5600+.

Anyone got any clues. I'm looking between MovieFactory, Video Studio and Power Director. My needs are simple....if I get no joy with this software, then it's scratched from the short list...like I did with Adobe, which does have issues with AMD processors.

Appreciate any replies from the experts here.
