Media Studio Pro ver 7 to 8 upgrade not available

FYI, I just talked to Corel support and found out there is no longer an upgrade offered between MSP ver 7 and Ver 8. They did offer to sell me a new complete version of 8 at full price. Imagine that. Obviously dissapointed that I cannot continue to use the application but it's apparent that MSP has no future life within Corel. I can't affort Adobe Premier. Does anyone have experience using other authoring products with similar features as MSP? Just curious.

what about premiere elements? I heard that was pretty good for the price.

I noticed that the other day when I wanted to upgrade someone.

It is a horrendous and stupid decision, another typical Corel boo-boo.
