Websites keep demanding using Flash 9 latest install

Post by tommytucker »

but if you do, you can't run Flash animations in VS10+. It needs Flash 7 that came with installation disks. Surely there is some way to view website content that needs latest Flash Player and still use VS Flash features?

From what I understand you can only have one version of Flash installed.

This is real, real strange. When using my browser (FireFox) to view flash animations on the web, it uses Flashplayer 9. However I don't have any problems with flash animations in VS. I don't have to keep switching my flashplayer.

I've tried to find why this problem is occurring with other members, however I've never experienced this problem. I also use a flash authoring program that comes with every flash player since version 4.

A method you could use is to find the directory containing your flash files and rename it. Now Install the other version.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash

You now have two versions of flash on your hard drive.
The one in the correctly named directory is the one that will be run.
By swapping their names round the other will run.

A quicki method of doing this is to create a batch file using a piece of software called batchrun
