OK, so I have been using DVD WS2 for the first time in a year to build a relatively non complex Dual Layer DVD for mass replication (about 4000 pieces). All of my previous DVD videos were authored onto a DVD master by my old editor. I needed to burn a DLT master for this latest project, so I purchased a used DLT 4000 internal tape drive. I updated all drivers, patches and everything else I could imagine to make sure it all went smooth. XP Pro found the drive, and lists it in the device manager.

Of course DVDWS2 does not. I get to the DLT burn section, and it shows that the drive is not ready. Tried restarting and updating the patches again, but no deal. I have decided that this program sucks completely and will have to train myself on something more user friendly (like a program that allows you to make 16x9 menus and DLT backups without hacking it). OK, so my question is this, since I do not have time on this next project to learn an entirely new program, can I make an Audio_TS and Video_TS folder and an iso file in DVDWS2 and theoretically transfer it into another program that actually supports and writes to a DLT tape drive? i found a product called Gear Box or something that took the iso file and DVDWS2 created folders and wrote them to DLT. BUT, until I get word from the replicator, I actually have no idea if the DLT tapes are any good until the check disc is burned and sent off.

I was able to get DVDWS2 to work on my wife's computer and it started writing to the DLT drive, but after about two hours and approximately 65% writing time, the program failed on the verify phase. I tried again without verifying and the same issue happened. It is a dual layer DVD at 6 gigs, but it errored out on the first layer/DLT.

My system is an XP Pro Dell, 3 gigs of memory, 320 gig hard drive. I have no problems with editing in Media Studio Pro and DVDWS2, but the fact that I cannot reliably write to a DLT is very annoying, since the replicator will not take anything else. I included a DVD backup of the video just in case. Any info would be appriciated...
Thank you
