cutting out scene

Post by dac »

Using VS 11.5.0157.1

I would like to simply cut out and discard a portion of a video file and have the remaining parts of the file "splice" together seamlessly. What is the best way to accomplish this?

Thanks!

You could use Save Trimmed Video, or you could render out a new video file.

If it's just the one scene:

With the video in the timeline. Joggle to the beginging of the section you want cut off. Click on the clip on the timeline (just to double make sure you are in clip mode)

Press the Scissors icon

This will result in a cut of the video

Do the same for the end of the section.

You will now have 3 video clips on your timeline.

In the time line...click the section you want removed (highlights the middle clip) and press delete (on keyboard).

Repeat process for other sections you want removed

Dac -- incidentally, I note your version of VS ends in the figure "1". That indicates you have no applied the update patch of 6 November 2007 which is available on the Download button of the Ulead.com site.
