PhotoImpact X3 New Cloud Pen

Post by trueblue »

Not sure if anyone has noticed but the new cloud pen isn't complete. That is, Corel in their wisdom have omitted to add the presets to the "Predefined Options" drop down box on the Attribute Bar. Also, when the pen is activated it does not directly go to that pen settings in the Easy Palette. One has to manually search which is time consuming.

The Help section in PI definitately states it does do the above, but in effect it does not. An oversight of Corel's programming dept. for PI.

I did write to Corel pointing this out but sadly and most rudely they did not reply to my email.

I do get a little frustrated of purchasing software that's not completed before being launched onto the public at some considerable cost.

Corel, please have your testers ensure the programs are fully working before release. It maybe a small thing, but the big announcement of this NEW CLOUD TOOL is marred by its lack of completeness.

I've also submitted a query to Corel about this. We will see if I get a response.

Checking my contact at Ulead/Taiwan about this Cloud Pen

Post by HawaiianI »

I'm writing a course about using PIX3 and just ran across the same issue......so am in the process of letting him know about the forum and the disgruntled users. I'm disturbed because Crel is doing well re the photography issues, but not the artistic side of graphics.

I hate to brag about a program that's "buggy" and wonder who was in on the beta testing. I did it for a couple of years and something this new should have been dealt with before release!

I'll keep you guys posted!

I found the Predefinitions!!!

Check the EasyPalette and you'll see the settings there. I know it's a PITA, but they work!

We know it works from the EP but some effects are missing according to Corel.

They are well aware of this problem and will rectify it in due course.

When it was Ulead they had a number of beta testers, however no matter how many times they were advised certain things didn't work correctly it fell on deaf ears and the version was released with bugs etc. Version 11 is a prime example. They made ammendments for version 12 which turned out to be a not too bad program.

Corel takes over......and there's lots of issues with X3 - cloud pen, presets, importing and getting them to work correctly. The HELP files aren't so helpful. The manual is so small it's hardly readable, unlike Version 10 that was a great manual which I refer to often.

Like I said Hilary, Corel are well aware of the problems with X3 and have correspondence from them to that fact!

Yup, Maureen, I've been in touch w/the engineer who designed the cloud pen and did mention that the Corel User Board had lots of complaints that they should check out...so let's hope something happens. He did say he'd inform me and if I hear back, I'll sure let you know!
