Hi all,
Using VS10 plus, while playing back project in the PC preview window, everything works fine, but while playing back to external monitor (TV, camcorder) directly from the same timeline using DAC 200 as interface, I have dropped frame (that is, cracked video). I tried to experiment different settings yet the same problem. Pls how do I get around this, I need to output to tape/VHS?
Here are my settings:
A: File > Preferences > General > Instant playback target 1. Preview window 2. DV camcorder 3. Preview window & DV camcorder 4. Dual Head device
Note: I first selected no.3, later no.2option, same problem
B: File > Preferences > General > Playback method > 1. High qty playback 2. Instant playback
Note: I selected no.2
C: File > Preferences > General > Default field order 1. Framed based 2. Lower filed first 3. Upper field first
Note: I selected no. 1 to 3 one after the other. No difference.
What else do I need to set that I have not tried? Pls help me out.
Thanks in advance
Banji A

What do you have for a video card? This is real important when using multiple monitors. It should have it's own memory, as you are not running enough memory to share it with a video card, that is going to be used in this way.
I would recommend bumping up your memory to at least 1 gig too.

Thanks for your response.
My PC video card is btw 32-64mb and my ram is 1gb. If my video card MB is this small/low, how come the playback plays fine on the PC but when connected to ext TV via firewire it starts to drop frame both on the PC & ext. monitor?
Pls help clarify, what should have its own memory? Is it my ext. TV monitor?
I'm itching to read from you again.
