PI12 Resizing box causes border change

Post by sisom »

I created a simple box that was about 600 px wide, and then duplicated it, and then resized it to make a smaller box. The borders changed - the smaller box's borders are now heavily anti-aliased. Is there any way to stop this? This is one of those irritating little 'quirks' of PI that makes life incredibly difficult...

By the way, I then tried just drawing a 60px wide box to begin with - the borders still look anti-aliased. But when I draw the box over a certain size,( in this case it was 600px, but I don't know what size the anti-aliasing stops) the borders don't have anti-aliasing.

Irritating or what? I wanted to make several smaller boxes of the same height, to fit inside the larger box, and I wanted to line the left hand edge of the smaller box with the left hand edge of the large box, without introducing the new, unwanted 'anti-aliased' edge...

And just to make matters much worse, look at this:

These are the dimensions of the big box: notice it's 99px high.

Then I made a clone of it and reduced the width to 61px, the small box on the left - but look at the height! I didn't change it, but it's kindly changed it to 101px high! (And notice that it LOOKS exactly the same height as the main box that is supposedly 99px high...)

Then I made a clone of the small box and double clicked it to make it wider: 261px wide. It then changed the height to 103px! (Please note that in all these cases where it changed the height, it doesn't change it while you're typing in the new width, it's only AFTER you click 'Ok', and then double click the object again, that you see the height has been changed. Though in the case of the last box shown below, I could see immediately that it had made it taller.)

So how am I supposed to complete what should be a dead easy task - duplicating a box, reducing the width, increasing the width, and making them all line up nicely in the big box? Does this happen in X3?

It gets worse:

I duplicated the large right hand box, then changed its width to 60px, and now it shows it's gone to 61px by 105px high! So it's grown another 2px taller, and an extra pixel wider!
