video studio 11 upgrade ability?

Post by bgd73 »

To purchase the upgrade version of VideoStudio 11.5 Plus, you must own a previous licensed version of:

Ulead VideoStudio 6 Retail/Upgrade/SE/SE DVD /SE VCD/SE Basic
Ulead VideoStudio 7 Retail/Upgrade/ESD/SE/SE DVD /SE VCD/SE Basic
Ulead VideoStudio 8 Retail/Upgrade/ESD/SE/SE DVD /SE VCD/SE Basic
Ulead VideoStudio 9 Retail/Upgrade/ESD/SE/SE DVD/SE Basic
Ulead VideoStudio 10/10 Plus Retail/Upgrade/ESD/SE/SE DVD
Ulead MovieWizard 1.0
Ulead MovieWizard 2.0 DVD
Ulead MovieWizard 3.0 SE DVD
Ulead MovieWizard 4.0 SE DVD
Ulead Video ToolBox 2.0 Full/HE/ME
Ulead Video ToolBox 2.5
Please note that the trial version and Not for Resale (NFR) version are not eligible.

I see everything but the version 11 I just bought in the list above given by corels website. Seems ridiculous as to compare to the list..you would think version 11 would be easier than ever to upgrade to 11.5 plus version.

I bought v11 assuming when hd was in my actions I could simply upgrade cheaply.Did I make a mistake?

I got v11 as I only have dvd camcorder...but not for all that long.

I hope the list above is a mistake.

Welcome to the forums,

No the list is not mistaken. They did not provide for upgrading from VS11. The free upgrade to 11.5 from 11.0 is only available for the Plus version.

And you might as well wait as v12 had been released in Japan and should soon be available.

Video studio 11 upgrade ability?

Post by D Stanley »

Any idea when Version 12 will be coming to Australia?
Will the above list of upgradeable versions apply also to V12?
Thanks,
Don

Australia generally gets the new releases at the same time as the UK and US. VS11/11+ will be added to the list of qualifying for upgrades.

Oh my freakin word.

And where is this "11plus" my internet sees it never. It is a NON-EXISTENT product. Thay have 11 and 11.5 plus on the same pages no inbetween.
I was not looking for free upgrades (altho that would be real).
I did indeed make a mistake.

I see ulead 11 doesn't even output the mpeg4 encoding my vid needs. Not just a privelage. My vid NEEDS mpeg 4. WMV's milky way has been a tragedy for too long. Another reason for Ulead VS was the encoding.
There is a 30 day guarantee, and I am getting the box version...back to the canuck town it came from.

The Ulead.com website has always advertised both VS 11 and VS11+ since those products were first released last year. How do you think so many of us managed to buy the Plus version? It certainly wasn't by accident... Looking at the website just now, for instance, I see this page: http://www.ulead.com/vs/runme.htm where a clear distinction is made...

Within this last week, they stopped selling VS11.0 Plus, and started offering VS11.5 plus. This is probably due to VS12's release being just around the corner.

For those that have VS11.0 plus, and just want the free upgrade to 11.5 plus, I would be grabbing it within the next few weeks. Once they release VS12, the free upgrade to the 11.5 will most likely disappear..
