Need help with patch problem

Post by GregGerlach »

I have been using DVDWS 2.231 for several years without any problems but now I'm experiencing a serious problem. Two things are happening and seem to be related:

1. The top tabs/links (start, capture, edit, menu, etc.) aren't as wide as they are supposed to be allowing only for the display of 1-2 letters of each item. All I see is S, C, E, M, etc.

2. When I try to use DVDWS, I get "DVDWS.exe has generated errors..."

I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling DVDWS 2. After I get the base program installed, it looks and works fine. But when I install the 2.231 patch, the above two problems occur.

I've even tried downloading the 2.231 patch from the Corel site (thinking my patch was corrupt) but that didn't help.

This is a real head scratcher!

If it's worked for years and not caused a problem, then it is likely it is something you have just installed/unistalled that has caused the problem, rather than WS failing.

Think back to what you have changed since it last worked properly and reverse this.

Can't think of anything I installed/uninstalled... this has begun happening in the last couple of weeks. The error message says that "an error log is being created"... where can I find this error log? I tried right clicking on My Computer, then Manage/Event Viewer but could not find anything.
