PSP X2 Tutorial by Lynda.com installation?

Post by Rilla927 »

Hi gang,

I done something really stupid after I installed the files for tutorial by Lynda and I don't know where they went. I unchecked this little box not thinking, it led you to the path where the files are.

So I'm already to start this thing and realize I can't find the files, grrrr. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

Thanks

I would do a search for "mov" files. I think most of her tutorials are in the Quicktime MOV format.

Another possible solution if you are using FireFox, is to open the Download manager, right-click on any of the files that you downloaded, and select Properties. This will give you the path to where it was downloaded.

You can also try clicking on the file to install it again, and you should get the path to where it was installed. Just cancel it once you find out.

Hi Vidoman,

Unfortunately at that time I didn't think of looking for MOV files. I don't use Firefox.

I did try clicking on the file to reinstall to see the path and it just opens the tutorial and no work files.

For the next two days, I kept redownloading the installation file for Lynda, and still no exercise files. I tried four different fresh installs. All my security was disabled and shutdown each time.

I emailed Corel on the 17th and and explained what happened. I asked if they could send me the disc (for Lynda) if not, give me a full refund. The only reason I spent that much was to get the Tutorial, otherwise I could have paid half that for a Upgrade.

Thanks for trying to help :)

Run the file LYN12_Corel_EN_ESD.exe, but don't start any of the videos and leave the window where you choose the videos open. Go to Run in the Windows Start menu and enter "%temp%". This will open your temporary files folder. Double click on a subfolder in there called "ir_ext_temp_0", then double click on the "Autorun" folder. In there, drag the folder called "Videos" to your desktop, and close the Lynda videos window. The tutorial videos are in that "Video" folder on your desktop.

OMG, I done what you said and it worked. Tim you'da man!

Now I know why I couldn't find the files they are in the temp file only when the gui of the Tutorial is open. If you close the Tut the files disappear.

I was really bummed when this happened and wanted to start learning; thanks to Tim I can do that now.

Thanks again
