VS10+ DVD Menu Template Issue (Created in PhotoImpact)

I am having an issue with a DVD menu that I created. I used the DVD menu plug-in in PhotoImpact, and started with one of the templates (a text menu) from VS10+. I added my pictures and moved the objects around to where I wanted them. I then used the DVD menu plug-in to create and export the menu. The plug-in indicated that nothing was missing and that everything was ready for export. However, when I export and then go to use the menu in VS10+ (from Favorites), I can see the thumbnail, but cannot use the menu. When I click on it, I get a dialog box that says "Failed to change menu template." I saw a similar post on this forum, but no resolution as to how it was fixed. If I compare the objects and their names from my menu to a working menu, I cannot see any differences. Is there something that I am overlooking? Has anyone had a similar experience? I have tried everything I can think of, but nothing has worked. I would appreciate any insight that people have to offer.
