Animations don't work in VS11 Plus Upgrade

Post by ctscar190 »

None of the included animations will animate.

C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 11\Samples\Video\MotionD01.swf

The animations just suddenly stopped working, and the message says "The content of these files is unreadable. I had VS 10 Plus and I upgraded to VS11 Plus and up until now I have had no problems with the content. I installed VS11 Plus and did a repair, but it has made no difference.

I have located the swf files and it says that they will not work because there is a file format mismatch. They are a Shockwave Object.

Please help as I don't know why these animations are not working.

Most likely you need to go back to an earlier version of Flash Player to get them to work.
The correct version will be buried somewhere in the installation files.
Uninstall Flash Player from the Add/Remove programs folder in Windows.
Then do a repair installation of VS and it should load the version it likes.
Make sure you don't allow Flash Player to update itself otherwise the files become unreadable again.

P.S. If you are thinking to yourself, "well that's just silly!" Tell yourself you are correct! :D

animations still not working

Post by ctscar190 »

Thank you for your reply. I have removed Adobe Flash Player 9.0.115,0, and have completed another repair using the VS11 Plus Upgrade. It still does not work.

Should I completely uninstall VS11 Plus Upgrade and reinstall using the VS11 and VS10 disks?

I have gone to the Adobe site and as far as I can tell there is only one version of Flash Player that I can install and that is Adobe Flash Player 9.0.115.0. Everytime I do a repair Ulead VS11 does not reinstall the Flashplayer. Is there an installation for the Flash Player on the bonus disk?

Ok try this.
I am assuming you don't want VS10 still on the computer.
Go here and follow as much of the instructions as you can to do a "clean uninstall."

http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... 5773#55773

Then install VS11. If it is an upgrade from VS10 you can just put the VS10 installation disc in the DVD tray and it will detect it and continue. If you don't have the disc then you need to re-install VS10 then VS11.

Let me know how that goes.

With VS11 you should not need to have VS10 installed, just the serial number for VS10 (or whatever earlier version you upgraded).

Yes there is a Flashplayer installer included with main program installer. You would need to unpack the file using Winzip, Winrar or some zip utility program. Then once it is unpacked, look for the Utilities folder. Inside this folder are the AVControl SDK, and Flashplayer folders. Open the Flashplayer folder to access the installer.

This will reinstall the Flashplayer for VS11.

Animations now working

Post by ctscar190 »

Thank you for your reply. I decided not to uninstall and reinstall as was suggested. It looked very complicated. Adobe Flashplayer 9 is still uninstalled.
I located Flashplayer 7 from the disk and installed it. The animations are now working.
Is is possible for me to install Flashplayer 9 as well, as some animations are coming through in emails etc, and you need Flashplayer 9 to see them, or does it override Flashplayer 7?
Thank you very much for all the advice.
