windvd8 gold problem

Application Error The exception Illegal Instruction. An attempt was made to execute an illegal instruction (0xc000001d) occured in the application at location 0x0128211e.

I am running xp professional sp 2. Any ideas so I can view my dvd's on my home system?

I am running WinDVD on XP SP2 and while I am having problems, it mostly works. Making the rather brash assumption that you have removed and re-installed WInDVD8 - have you fired up the performance monitor and seen what is happening to your processor?

I've found that when the processors peg out, WinDVD8 can crash with what appears to be an invalid instruction.
