Will Canopus ADVC55/110 capture device work with VS11+?

I'm new to the forum having just come back to video after a few years in photography and I was looking for a way of getting 15 year old 8mm and Hi8 footage digitised onto my laptop for burning to DVD.

After researching the net I decided on the Canopus ADVC 55 and the power adapter. My old editing software was Pinnacle Studio 8 (Win XP) but it won't load correctly onto the laptop (old Studio software was always unstable). I downloaded the VS11+ trial and it immediately allowed my laptop to capture digitised footage from the Hi8 camcorder through the Canopus.

I was so impressed with the combination that today I'm the owner of the full SV11+ program and I've already converted 1 hour of 8mm and burned it to DVD at the first attempt without any problems and I'm amazed at the picture quality and sound on a 42" plasma screen.

The Canopus is so simple needing no software or drivers installed to work, the only drawback being the price, 158 GBP with the power adaptor, postage and VAT, but it's a price I'm happy to pay for something that works well. I was going to spend the money on a DV camcorder but the Canopus has extended the life of my Hi8 for a little longer instead.
