effects on layering videos

Post by stringbeing »

Filming oncerts and have 2 cameras...I want to mix the images into scenes going back and forth synced to music, and I want the scenes to fade into each other. I'm leaving the first camera scene in tact on the first time line and chopping up the overlay and setting it up to full screen so that when it comes to an overlay secion it switches to that scene. Problem is I can't seem to add effects to my overlay to get it to fade softer. If I add the sections of the overlay into the main track and add fades, it goes out of sync with the music track (not using ripple editing, would that help?) Thanks...

The current versions of VideoStudio do not include transitions though we have devised work rounds:
Transitions in overlay tracks

Word on the grapevine is that VideoStudio 12 will have transitions.
In the meantime you can quite easily do a fade in/fade out. please click this thumbnail.

I use MSP for multicamera work: a lot easier!
