Photoimpact x3 throws exception on closing in Vista

My laptop is supercharged and runs vista - dell xps m1530 3gb or ram
when i close PhotoImpact it throws an exception - very dissapointed with corel's first effort .
Is any one else getting this ?
Is there a new fix scheduled for x3 ?
Is it time to move to adobe?
