VS11+Trial Is "Insert Scenes as Chapters" inactiv

Post by virg2673 »

Need your help.
Using VS11+, I completed my Edit Workflow, then >File, >Save, >Share, >Create Video File, >Same as Project Settings, and then >Save. Upon completion of smart rendering process, >Stop, >File, >New Project, >Share, >Create Disc, >Do not convert compliant mpeg files, >Add Video, and >Add/Edit Chapters. But then I don't get an opprotunity to select Insert Scenes as Chapters, for the six chapters that I put into my hour long video. They were on my timeline, with Transitions, when I completed my Edit Workflow before >Create Video File.
Where do I select, Insert Scenes as Chapters?

After selecting the Add/Edit Chapters, you need to press the Auto Add Chapters. Then you will see the Insert Scenes as Chapters option.

... and if you move the jog slider under the preview screen on the Add Chapters page, then the manual controls become active, allowing you to select which points you want to mark as chapters manually. You drag the slider to where you want a chapter to start then click 'Add Chapter'...

Thank you Vidoman and Ken Berry for your time and patience, AGAIN.
Tried your suggestion as follows. After completing my Edit workflow during which I selected six chapters, and created my Video File, I selected >Share, >Create Disc, >Add/Edit Chapters, and >Auto Add Chapters. I find the "Insert scenes as chapters" in the Auto Add Chapters pop up, but it is an inactive option and greyed out.
1. Is this because I'm testing with the trial version of VS11+ or have I made some other mistake?
2. Secondly, regarding Ken's comments, are you suggesting that I should select my chapter segments in the Share/Create DVD portion of my workflow instead of during the Edit portion of my workflow? I thought that the workflow that you suggested for me last year, with my VS8, had chapter selections in the Edit portion of my workflow.
Thank you guys ever so much for your help and guidance. I could never have gotten this far without your coaching. If Corel isn't paying you for your services, they should be.

Thanks sjj1805. I read "Chapters" in your suggested tutorial again, and once again I found it to be informative, as the tutorials almost always are.
However, it doesn't address the primary question that is preventing me from finalizing my test of VS11+. That question as stated above is as follows;
