AVCHD export / import problem.

Post by Al »

If an AVCHD video file is exported the same file CANNOT be added/imported into an AVCHD or a Blu-ray project. HOWEVER, a Blu-ray video file CAN be added/imported into the AVCHD project. Is this is a serious design flaw !

Have re-loaded DVD MF6+ with no difference.

Al,
You need to be more specific, not enough information.
Operating System? Vista/XP?
Other ulead products installed? Yes/No
If XP, Service Pack Installed? SP1/SP2
MF6+ Updated with patches? Yes/No
Directx 9.0c Updates installed? Yes/No
Source video(s), where did they come from and their properties.

AVCHD

Please assume that I have covered all the possibilities. My query is as per my original question :

DVD MF6+ (current version - all updated) has a feature called Export Selected clip. In it it offers an export of AVCHD video file. My contention is that this file is NOT readable or importable by any software.

No, that's not correct, they can be used in an AVCHD or Blu-Ray Project, actually any project

HOWEVER, a Blu-ray video file CAN be added/imported into the AVCHD project.
What are you calling a Blu-Ray Video File? What format, Blu-Ray uses a few codecs in it's technical spec's

Depends, what software? Ulead software reads back the videos it exports

You aren't by any chance using the "Fast Export" feature with avc/h264 video content? That may give you a problem depending on how the source video was encoded because it's using smartrender (of the avc/h264 video). Doesn't always work depending on how the video was originally encoded.
