hi, I¡¦m an enthusiastic Ulead Video Studio 11 user and I know many capabilities of this program. But when I try to change some of thumbnails of menu (with ¡§change this scene thumbnails¡¨ option), before creating DVD, the program crashes and I lose all data of my work and I have to exit with ctrl+alt+canc.
Further, I noted that during menus creating phase, changes are not saved, even though
I save the project file.
Tanks for your replay cariocu

First, welcome to the forum. However, I have to advise you *never* to use your full email address in a post. You are only inviting criminals (in my opinion) to send you spam. I have thus removed your email address.

Is your PC powerful enough to be editing video? The only information you provide is that you're running WinXP and have a 500 gig hard drive. Please complete your System Information in your profile. Clicking on this button -->
will take you to a short tutorial, explaining how to find and complete that information. This way it will always be available, and will save you from retyping it in the future.
Since you're in the burn module, you should at this point be using DVD compatible MPEG-2 video files. Are you using that format, or the VSP (Videostudio Project files) from the editor, or some other format? A Recommended Workflow has been developed to help guide you through the mine-field of video editing, as it pertains to Ulead's VideoStudio Programs. They can be viewed here:
Recommened WorkFlow for VideoStudio
Do you have numerous other applications running while you're editing/authoring your DVDs? Try shutting down any and all unnecessary background applications, such as anti-virus, anti-spyware, screensavers, program updaters.

thanks to Vidoman, Ken Berry and all of this site.
I updated my profile. I tried to work with only Ulead Studio prgogram, without any other application and my problem seems to be solved. Unfortunately remains my other problem : when I prepare the menu with some thumbnails and successively I change some of theese thumbnails, or change any other element of the menu, if I close creation menu phase and save project, when I return to see the menu, it appears without last changes and shows original state.
Could you help me as well in that ?
thanks. cariocu
P.S. anyway I'm already satisfied for obtained objective.

You had not mentioned this other problem before. When you make your menu, and you are happy with it, close the burning module before you start to burn the disc. I know this might sound silly, but that is what you have to do. You close the burning module, and you will be asked if you want to save the file, and of course, you say OK. You can give it a new name or even overwrite the existing project file. But you must save it manually.
Normally, when you close the burning module, you will be told that the file is being saved automatically. *DON'T BELIEVE IT*!!!!! It may save something, but none of us know what it save or where it saves it. Do it manually, and you can save your entire menu etc. Once you have saved it, simply reopen the burning module (Share > Create Disc) and your full saved menu and project should all be there.
Or if you close Video Studio entirely in between, and reopen that project, then in the burning module, the full menu you have created should still all be there...

I don¡¦t want to trouble you, but maybe I am a obtuse man !
Now I explain step by step my operations when I create a menu; :
After creation of main and secondary menus with their automatic thumbnails, I sometimes need
to change any thumbnail; after theese changes I close menu; module with ¡§close¡¨ (the button in the bottom of window, on the right) ¡V message ¡§saving project¡¨ appears. Then main window of Ulead appears and : file - save (or save as) the project; then, without exiting the Ulead Program, I choose option : share - create disc : ¡§loading project¡¨ appears; I push button ¡§next¡¨ : the change of main menu thumbnail (if done) is ok, but changes of secondary menu; are not saved and original situation appears.
I also checked preferences but I think is all normal.
P.S.
I noticed this problem also in my first post.
Thanks cariocu
