Version 8 startup problem HELP!

Something happent to my version 8 when I go to start it, the splash screen comes up and I select the editior but then it wais for a second like its going to load and then nothing happens after the splash screen disapears. I tried many times to remove it and reinstall it but it still does the same , Is there something else I need to do to totaly remove it before reinstalling it to remove the corruption?

There are a number of hidden files and folders which you also need to delete, make sure you have "Show hidden files and folders" checked in the folders view options and then do a complete search of your HDD for Ulead - delete all you find - I would also run a registry clean up programme (Norton WinDoctor or whatever you have) to clean the registry first before re-installing.

Ithink there is something else hidden, I didnt want to delete everything cause my photo impact and photo explorer will also die. I may have to remove those also.

No matter what I do even after repeated unistall and reinstall, I enter my serial install it then the splash screen pops up for a while then disapears and thats it? whats corupted here?


Anyone know if there are any files in the windows folder that should be deleted?

I think My mistake was that I tried the trial version out to see if it was different then my older 8 version and when I went to remove it , it left some BS file somewhere that now has corupted my system.. anyopne knwo where it may be? It wont allow my full version to run.

Well my mind is getting made quickly on weather I should upgrade or not. After not being able to run version 8 since something is wrong Im sure the support might be the same on version 9, Im surely thinking about NOT buying since I cant get help.

I am having the exact same problem as John510. I currently own VideoStudio 7 and haven't had any problems with it. I was anxious to upgrade to version 9 after reading the new features. I paid for the download version. I have downloaded and re-downloaded, uninstalled and re-installed with no luck. I have spent hours each of the past three nights. I get the same result as John. The opening VideoStudio screen appears but as soon as I attempt to direct myself to Movie Wizard, Editor etc. the screen flashes briefly and I get an application error message. It must be a bad download but no one at Ulead will respond to me as to what I should do. I am currently out $60. Anyone out there who can help me ???

I found out that ulead placed some BS locking programing into videostudio that to stop program theft its refered to as XTREMLOK and dosent show in the running task, unfortuntly if you have a real version of the videostudio and for some reason you ran a trial version, if you dont follow the removal exactly before reinstalling the real version you will SCREW yourself.

The worst part of this is that ULEAD wont respond on how to eliminate the problem cause just removing it will not always work.

Thanks ULEAD you screwed me good on this one and I wont be buying from you anymore if you dont respond.
