I received an email re VideoStudio 11.5+. It appears to do what I want but I really wanted to try the trial version first. I have a Sony HD video camera that uses the AVCHD format. So far I haven't found a program that has a simple user interface and supports AVCHD. I understand the trial version is only VideoStudio 11 which does not import AVCHD but I thought I would try it anyway. I did try downloading it but I had trouble. I contacted Corel and was told to uninstall it and then download and reinstall. I did this, and after it installed another screen came up and uninstalled it. I am very frustrated at this point.
I don't see the point of offering a trial period and then not allowing the installation of offered program (VideoStudio 11.5+).
Has anyone else had this problem?

The trial version available is only of the original VS11+, not VS11.5+, and it does not deal properly with AVCHD. However, the Hot Pack update which raises the full version of VS11+ to VS11.5+ *does* work well with AVCHD. But the Catch 22 is that the Hot Pack will not work with the trial version, I am sorry to say.
All that being said, we have just learned that VS12, which should undoubtedly be better at it, has just been released in Japan. It might take several more weeks for it to be released in English and other language versions. But if could be better to curb your impatience until it becomes available.
