Sounds promising.

What is the capture plug-in? Just wondering if they kept the same one from v11 that causes so many problems, particularly with analog capture.

It is somewhat difficult to navigate in the GUIs in Japanese but I found something that is called "Corel Capture Component" and is the only one available.

The Paint Creator tool that is included with VS12 is awesome. When you invoke the tool, you have in background the video clip you have in the timeline. You can then record whatever drawing you do in real time. Once finished, a clip is created and appear in the library manager. You can then drag the clip in the overlay track.

I see a lot of new usage for this tool and understand a bit why a pen tablet is offered in the prize list of My Tutorial contest.

Travel maps would be a lot easier to do with this.

That sounds suspiciously like the InterVideo Capture Component (IVI) which has merely been rebadged. Hopefully, though, they did some work on it to iron out the manifest kinks in the original IVI Capture Component...

And sorry about the confusion over the MSP overlap > transition feature.

This is GREAT!

When do you think they will release upgrades to VS12?

I didn't upgrade to 11, because there wasn't enough difference to pursuade me.

But 12 promises to be a REAL upgrade!

When??? I don't know, and none of us do. When I beta-tested for VS10, we had to sign a NDA (non-disclosure agreement). We were not allowed to disclose anything about the product, until they specifically told us.

IF history repeats itself, they released VS11 at the end of April 2007.

Ron, did you Beta V12?.... or have they even gone into Beta for the English version?

If not (they are still in Alpha), do you think it is possible to get ahold of them to sign up for the English Beta?

I have Beta tested for all the majors, and would love to Beta VS12.

No I just for VS10, after that Corel had purchased Intervideo/Ulead, and does not use any of us for beta testing. I expressed my desire to beta test VS11, however Corel does things differently.

As far as we are aware, none of us were asked to beta test VS11, let alone VS12. Who did, or if they did, remains a mystery. And of course we are all left to reap the whirlwind...

If they don't release VS12 in the U.S. soon I'm going to explode! I was hoping that it would be today but it doesn't look like it. :( Come on Corel, this is killing me!
