WinDVD 4 reinstall

I had to do a complete reinstall on my computer recently. I am now trying to reinstall my "Video Software Suite" cd. I was able to install my "Sonic MyDVD", but when I try "InterVideo WinDVD" it comes up with this message: error number: 0X80040707 description: dll function call crashed: instutil _LqueryEX Setup will now terminate.

I also tried to do the trial version of WinDVD 8 platinum and this error message came up : "The installation of Microsoft Visual C++2005 redistributable package (x86) has failed. Set up will now exit.

Any ideas what's going on with my computer and how to reinstall WinDVD4.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
