Movie Factory 5.6
Movie Factory 5.6
I have installed the Moviefactory 5.6 that came with my new Canon HR10. Im having a problem viewing the movies Ive shot. After downloading the manual for this software I found that my Corel Menu guide has only 3 categories to choose from. Video Disc, Import, & Copy disc. But the manual shows 6 categories on the example page. What should I do? When trying to import the files it seems to do it fine until its time to preview it then I get a message saying it has encountered a problem and has to shut the program down. Help? Thanks

Sorry if you this sounds like I am telling you off - I am not. Please Read This Before posting wrote:SUBJECT: Please use a subject that describes your exact problem instead of making us guess what's in your post.
You can alter the title by using the
The purpose of providing a meaningful title is this.
There are a number of members on the forum who try and help troubleshoot problems - myself included. In the early days of the user forum it was not too difficult to be able to read all of the posts submitted since the last time I (or one of the other troubleshooters) had logged on.
On the Forum Home page at the top right is a link
view posts since last visit In the forums early days this would perhaps range between 10-30 posts. Today however the board has grown in popularity and more products are now catered for including the former Intervideo products before the merger with Ulead.
There have been days when I have logged on to find over 70 new posts since my last visit. It is of course impossible to read each and every one of them and so it is necessary to look at the titles to pick out posts where I feel I am able to offer some worthwhile input.
if you are viewing perhaps the VideoStudio forum and a post is entitled
"VideoStudio" - it doesn't really give you a clue, similarly in the PhotoImpact forum a post entitled [PhotoImpact] is equally as meaningless.
Giving a post a suitable title is a means of helping us to help you.

The "Free" version that comes with your cannon is not the full version but what is termed a SE version. some call it a Special Edition but others call it a Simple Edition. Think of it as you would a never ending free trial to give you a taste of what the full version is capable of.
Cannon have supplied you with the manual for the full version.
clip previews will not work on ver. 5 se
Thanks for the information sjj1805. I understand now, it is a simple version of software that I have. But shouldnt I be able to download and preview files on my computer? Whenever I attempt to import the individual clips, ( In WinDVD SE or MF) it seems to work fine until it is time to preview it and I get a message stating "movie factory has encountered a problem and has to shut down". Ive uninstalled and reinstalled the software once. How can I tell if this is a software or hardware problem?
Also I got the manual from the Corel website. So now I have to purchase the real version from corel to have a full working program?
