VS11+ reburn project errors

Post by dcailler »

I have loaded a file(MPEG 2) from a DVD ...its a 6 minute video into my Video Studio 11+--I have applied the amplifier to enhance the sound and I split it into two chapters...but when I try to reburn a new DVD... I get an error message("unspecified error")...why can't I reburn the DVD???
I don't think the original was edited and burned using VS11+...might have been Adobe.Premier Pro 2..does it matter once it's a MPEG 2 file anyway...
Is this task hopeless...or can it be done???

Thanks in advance....

First, you might want to change your login name so that it is not your email address. Using your email address is like putting up a 50 foot billboard saying, "Hey! Spam me!"
On the MPEG problem try to render the project to a new MPEG2 file first before you try to burn a DVD. Just go to Share/Create Video File and use the exact same properties as those of the original files. You can get those by right clicking on one of them.
Once you have that new file, go to File and start a new project then go straight to the Share tab and Create Disc. The reason you start a new project is to clear the timeline.

Regarding your user name you can send me a PM to have it changed.

I am a bit wary of your phrase "re-burn" - do you mean you have attempted to extract a file from a DVD, edit it and then burn it back onto that same DVD? - once a DVD Video has been created it cannot be altered on THAT disc.

The correct way to extract video from an existing DVD Video disc is outlined
VS : Importing DVD Files
