hello, i'm previewing an AVI stored in my C-drive and i'm wondering if there is a way for me to capture images while it's playing.
I'm using Photo Explorer 8.6.

Not with PhotoExplorer. That function is for capturing still images from a camcorder.
You can Google for screen grab programs, or use the good ol' prt scr(print screen). Then open up an image editor and Paste as a new image. PE is not so much an image editor as it is a browser and organizer.
If you have programs such as PhotoImpact, PaintShop Pro, or some freeware will allow you to Paste what's on your clipboard into the program for editing.
