Studio 11 help files not found
I have installed the trial version of Studio 11 and am looking for help. So I went to the help button from within the software program and it said that it cannot find the help file. I have a Cannon HG10 and want to edit the video's. It uses AVCHD compression and the program (Studio 11) says it cannot find the file on the hardrive. I connected the HG10 via USB 2 to the computer but Studio 11 says it cannot find the video file. That is why I wanted to use the help files that I think should have come with the trial version of Studio 11. What do I do now?

Unfortunately, the Help files are not included with the trial version.
However, you can find the user manual here: http://ulead.com/vs/documents.htm

I looked up the link and got to the help file download which is a PDF file. It did not load due to some error on the sight but I did find some help online in another location for Studio 11. It said how to import an AVCHD file from a disc but I have a camcorder that has a hardrive, not a disk. How do I find information on how to import the video file from the hardrive on my camcorder?
It should be in the camcorder manual.vzuelke wrote:How do I find information on how to import the video file from the hardrive on my camcorder?
Normally, it's a case of hooking up the camcorder to your pc with a USB cable. There's probably software that comes with the camcorder to be used for capturing the video, but it may also be possible to import the files simply by copying them in My Computer or Windows Explorer if the camcorder shows as a hard drive. The Sony camcorder manuals seem to make no mention of this alternative to using their own software.

Julie -- depends which version you have. If you have the full, boxed version, it will be in CD2. If you have the download version, then the Help files will be in the second (Extra Content) file you should have received a link for and downloaded.
As for the downloaded manual, there is absolutely no reason why it should not be readable. It is in PDF format, and of course you require an Adobe Acrobat reader for that, but once you have that installed, it should be read unless you have a corrupt download...

... Plus all the other bits and pieces that came in that second file I hope... They are all either necessary or at least useful to the smooth operation of VS. It is only the things in the third file (Bonus Content) that are not specifically part of VS, such as WinDVD...I now have the manual.

You should in fact have received 3 download links from Corel: the first is for the main program package; then a second as described above -- the Extra Content file; and a third Bonus Features file. If you did not receive them, you will have to go back to Corel and ask why they were not sent to you. Apart from the Help files, the Extra Content also contains various other things, including video, audio etc samples, which are required or at least useful for VS11's proper working. The Bonus file only contains extra programs which are not directly related to VS.
Why Corel is persisting in its behaviour of only sending one download file, I have no idea...
