Hi Cauptain,

You can choose field order - but your source video will be one or another which you should stick with.

You can adjust the video bitrate

You can choose constant bitrate or variable - and if the latter, you can choose two-pass.

You can set the quality slider - which is generally thought to adjust motion search.

You can choose 720 or 704 pixels of horizontal resolution, and select half resolution if you like.

That's just about all - apart from all the audio options. VS doesn't let you adjust all the mpeg encoding parameters as you might be able to with Xvid, for example.

But in few months ago I see in forum a INI setting about this. UVS10/11 :cry:

This is the thread/post you're looking for..

http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... 9645#49645. A tutorial/article by Terry Stetler, where you add the statement to the uvs.ini file, so that you can access the Advance settings..

Well it used to work in earlier VS versions.

Here's the section from the VS11 uvs.ini file:

[VIODRIVER]
UleadVideoPlay=1
UleadVideoDecoder=1
UleadAudioPlay=1
UleadAudioDecoder=1
UseOnlineMuxing=1
MotionEstimate=20
DvdDashVR=1
PlayAC3=1
DecodeAC3=1
UleadAC3Encode=1
EnableAC3ProjectSetting=1
EnableHDEncode=1
SupportTransportStream=1
SupportEditTS=1
SupportTS2PSPreprocess=0
SupportMPEG2TSDTR=1
StreamInterfaceInfo=1
AutoCheckDVB=1

There doesn't appear to be an option to toggle "advanced" settings any more, though the adventurous could no doubt use different versions of the .ini file with altered values for the various parameters.

2Dogs,

This was not already included in any versions. All you need to do is add the line Advance=1 to the end of the VIODRIVER section.

It still works in versions 8-11.

Unfortunately, in my version of VS11 at least, adding Advance=1 does not appear to enable the advanced button. Perhaps I added it in the wrong way. Here's my revised listing for that part of the uvs.ini file:

[VIODRIVER]
UleadVideoPlay=1
UleadVideoDecoder=1
UleadAudioPlay=1
UleadAudioDecoder=1
UseOnlineMuxing=1
MotionEstimate=20
DvdDashVR=1
PlayAC3=1
DecodeAC3=1
UleadAC3Encode=1
EnableAC3ProjectSetting=1
EnableHDEncode=1
SupportTransportStream=1
SupportEditTS=1
SupportTS2PSPreprocess=0
SupportMPEG2TSDTR=1
StreamInterfaceInfo=1
AutoCheckDVB=1
Advance=1

2 dogs, if it doesn't work. Try this. My computer had 2 listings of the studio 11 folders; and .ini file. The first one didn't work. Another user folder, (windows) with the studio 11 folders and the .ini file, was found, changed and presto!!! Run a search for that file, see how many places.

There is more than one uvs.ini on your system, the one that needs the extra line is this one

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\11.0\uvs.ini

[VIODRIVER]
UleadVideoPlay=1
UleadVideoDecoder=1
UleadAudioPlay=1
UleadAudioDecoder=1
UseOnlineMuxing=1
MotionEstimate=20
DvdDashVR=1
PlayAC3=1

On my desktop and my C2D laptop, I only have one user account. There is only one instance of uvs.ini which is in

C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio11\uvs.ini
