Ok pros, here is one for you.
I have 5 pictures of a soccer ball ranging from real small (ball 1 as if it is far away) to filling the screen (ball 5 as if it is right at your face).
I want to have a clip where it starts out showing ball1 (the real small one) and smoothly growing to where ball 5 (the in your face one) is on the screen. Something like morphing (which if I could do that in VS11 plus with the small ball1 getting bigger would be great).
I downloaded a morphing program but so far no luck.
I have tried lining up ball 1 2,3,4 and 5 but the growing balls are jerky. I am not sure if there is some animation function that would help. I stumbled on Pan and Zoom but not sure if this would do the trick.
Any suggestions on how to make the small ball1 grow to a big in your face ball5 would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Bob
How to simulate morphing?

How high a resolution is your picture?
If it is high res then you could use a picture programme to retain the resolution, something like Canopus Imaginate and just use the one picture of the image far away and zoom right into it.
If the picture is low res then it will get very pixelated when you zoom in.
You could do this using pan and zoom effects in VS, but it may not be very clear on full zoom.
Photostory is free from MS and you could do it in that.

You could use a program called Bluff Titler to create this. It's not a free program but not that expensive. Here's a real fast example I created using that program.

The basketball is one of the decoration images included with VS11..
There's others such as skier-hughes mentioned, as well as Cool 3D. Then you get into some more pricey programs that would allow you to create this. What you're needing to do is produce a motion path for your soccerball image. VS does not have motion paths. So creating this in a third-party program would be better.

You could do it on a short clip using a video sequence file.
great advise all
Thanks guys, And Vidoman, I purchased blufftitler in a miami minute after looking at the demo.
Great program and will use that for the ball (and lots of other titles I have in the film).
thanks
Bob

this one is for vidoman
Hi,
I took you advise about Blufftitler and as previously mentioned, it is great and I have developed (what people have told me) is an awsome 20 minute Soccer video.
However, Blufftitler key functions are driving me nutz so I thought I would ask you (and anyone else that is familiar with Blufftitler how do go about it.
For example:
I have a scene. Lets say it will have a title (Soccer), and two sentences (I play soccer) and (you play soccer). Obviously these are just examples and were not actually in the movie.
I want the finished clip to look like this (notice the double line spacing):
Soccer
I play soccer.
You play soccer.
Here is the problem i am having.
I want the word Soccer to fade in and stay there:
Soccer
Then I want the sentence (I play soccer) to fade in and stay there:
soccer
I play soccer.
Then after the first sentence is on the screen for a few seconds, I want the second sentence (You play soccer) to fade in and stay there so the audience sees the whole screen at the same time:
Soccer
I play soccer
You play soccer
Then I want the whole screen to fade.
(blank screen)
The keys are killing me. I cant get the sentences to be in the correct position and fade in correctly (without a lot of aggravation). One screen took me 5 hours (although I hate to admit it), before i got a title and 5 paragraphs to fade in one after the other and in the right position on the screen.
Possibly this question is a little cumbersome to provide me some advise and if so, no problem. Just as I stuck with one screen for 5 hours, I will eventually learn the correct sequence to work with multiple lines, and effects coming in at different times.
Funny thing but most of the Youtube tutorials are in Spanish. Go figure.
Another thing. Can you copy one show into another?
Thanks vidoman... you ssj and blacklab and others (whose names I forgot) are the best!

Whew...5 hours..
I generally have not used it for something that complex, as it is not that easy of a program to work with..
What I do when I need keyframes in the same or close to the same location, is place the playhead where I need it then switch to the attribute (position, rotation, ect..) and set an adjust or set the parameters.
I recreated this using you're example..
Simple 3D titles, and effects for like backgrounds, it is a great program. I like it over Cool3DPS, because it doesn't take hours to render simple things. For complex titles and effects it can be a pain.

I recreated this using you're example..
- Set up the duration for your project. Just figure about a 1 second fade-in for each, and about 2 secs visible before the next fade-in, or whatever works for you. Then about a 1 or 2 sec fade-out, add them all together to get the total duration.
- Enter your first text "soccer", and set the color, texture ect..
- Place a key at the start, set the position. Now move the playhead to the time where you want it to be visible, and insert a key.
- Go back to the start (first key), change the transparency slider all the way to the right.
- Enter your second text "I play soccer". Make sure you're at the start, and set the position.
- As with the first text, move to the time where you want this text to be visible, and enter a key. Now the trick here is you want it to fade it, but not to start fading too soon. So move back a short distance, place another key, and set the transparency all the way up. This would be after the first text has already faded in.
- Do the same for your third text.
- Once you have them all faded-in, then move down towards the end, about 1 or 2 seconds before the end, and place a key for the transparency, so that the fade-out will start from this point. Then go to the end, place a key, and change the transparency.
