I think he means that when he does go to that tab...there is now no music listed in the auto music area...this happened to me too...I just went through the instructions listed above in depth...and it seemed to work OK for me.

I'm in the middle of rendering a DVD, so I can't look at the tab to see what he means.

Seems to me that he is missing the rebuild process, which for me happened when I clicked on the Audio tab. That probably creates the compiled library (unless it's clicking rebuild libraries that does it, but if he can't get into the Audio tab, he can't select the options button - or whatever it is called - and therefore can't rebuild).

Fair questions...

Everything below the horizontal line in the tab is grey and inactive (not clickable). The Scope: Library" and Music: boxes are empty.

I only have 1 user on the system, with full administrator privileges.

Regarding the 'rebuild process' -- that is NOT happening. When I click on the Auto Music tab, nothing happens... It's as if the system thinks I'm not entitled to use Auto Music, so it's not even looking for files and libraries...

Tried everything I could think of. Uninstalled VS8 and VS9. Zapped everything from registry that looked like SmartSounds (don't try this at home, kids).

Reinstalled VS9.

Still no SmartSounds.

Then received a reply from Ulead. There is an update from the plug-in vendor.

It runs quickly and it fixed my problem.

All SmartSounds now loaded and working!

Richard.

Fuego669 had the perfect solution. I had noticed the problem, checked the webBoard and the solution was right there. It worked flawlessly.

Thanks!

Just had a quick look - my SmartSound was already 3.0.2.6 and I had not applied the updater. I can only guess that my Smart Download Smart Sound package already had this extra fix in it, whereas earlier downloads did not (even though they claimed to be the same version as I confirmed with richard when we were comparing notes).

Samrtsound has a patch to fixed this problem.

If you go to
http://www.smartsound.com/support/qxpar ... pdate.html

You will find details on a patch which should fix this problem. I have yet to try it, as SmartSound is now working for me via the above fix.

Quicktracks for Pinnacle / Ulead / Cyberlink / Premiere - (Update 02/04/05)

What version is this update?
This installer will update Quicktracks to version 3.0.2.6. If you are not sure what version you are currently running, please open the SmartSound options window which can be found in the music window of your program. In this window, under the about tab, you will find the version number (example). Upon installation, the updater may prompt you with a message that it is going to uninstall your current version. If so, click OK, however you will need to run the updater again once the uninstall is complete.

Who needs this update?
This update is for owners of Pinnacle Studio 9 Plus, Ulead Video Studio 8 & 9, Cyberlink PowerDirector 4 and Premiere Pro/Elements.

Why should I update Quicktracks?
The purpose of this update is to provide the latest release of SmartSound Quicktracks and to provide bug fixes for older versions.

Thank you Fuego669!

Your fix made me very happy, it worked a treat. Thanks for taking the time to post it.

My smartsound version was already up to date after installing vs9 upgrade, so the upgrade link was of no use to me unfortunately.

SmartSound in VS9 problem

Thanks Fuego669,

your instructions saved me lots of time, I struggled now more then two weeks and only got two music files running, the rest of 24 was lost in thin air. the installer update did not help either, but now it works.

greetings from Dubai,
Peter
