UVS 11 Won't Stop Crashing
I recently purchased Ulead VideoStudio 11 and since I installed the program, it continually crashes. After I open it up, it takes less than 5 minutes for it to crash. I have installed every patch and nothing works. It doesn't matter what I am doing, it crashes while I do nothing. There was no problem installing the program. However, I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it numerous times and it still crashes. Any ideas as to what is wrong?

My computer meets all requirements for the program. I ask about why it crashes because other posts I have read was normally people who were trying to do something and it shuts down. Mine crashes while doing nothing. It only takes about 2-4 minutes before I get Ulead VideoStudio has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. It doesn't matter what I am doing, it just stops. I have the latest version of DirectX installed and it doesn't seem to help. I don't get any error codes either.

Well it's probably not your DirectX then.
Although you say you see no error messages, there should be a record of sorts in the Windows Event Viewer logs, although the information is usually pretty arcane.
It's possible you have a conflict with another program, perhaps a terminate and stay resident type or TSR. Many programs install automatic updaters that feel the need to check settings every few minutes. Screen savers and power saving settings can also interfere.
In Task Manager, how many services or processes do you normally have running?

About those Terminate Stay Resident (TSR) programs; I found these to be a problem when I was running Adobe Elements 3.0. Before I run VideoStudio 11+ or my new copy of Power Director 6, I go down to the tray items and close everything except my network/virus security program (and if I thought it was a problem, I would close it too). Some of them deal with my video card so I know they were causing a problem. They re-execute once you reboot your computer, so it's not a big deal. Just a thought anyway.
Good luck with solving your problem.

Close down everything connected with the internet, including the card used to access the modem or whatever, the firewall, anti-virus, anti-malware, anti-spam. Better still, dual-boot your 'puter and have the second boot ONLY with the essentials to run your video software.
Then check that your video data files are OK. Most crashes are because of a glitch, especially with heavily compressed files, such as WMV, MPG, XviD and DivX.
Finally, read http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=29725 and, if applicable, do what it says.

I had this problem, in fact in my case it won't even enter the program. Load>Crash.
The problem was, in my case, Ace Mega Codecs Pack. I've uninstalled it, and installed K-Lite Codec Pack 3,8 and everything is great!
