Error: The burner does not support this type of disc

Post by michaeltee »

I attempted to copy an audio disc (CD-R to CD-R) using the Burn Now component in DVDMF6+. Although the UI indicates both the source and target discs are readable I always get the following error message"

"The burner does not support this type of disc. Please insert a compatible media".

I tried all possible combinations of source and recorder between my 4 drives and always the same error. Just wondering if anyone else has run into this or has any suggestions.

Thanks,
-Mike

See if there is any updated firmware for your burner.
Firmware is software that resides within the burner itself to allow it to communicate with your computer. It is sort of like the BIOS of a computer.

To check you have to visit your burner manufacturers website.

Copy protection on the source disc.
Can you write to the cd's using any other app?
