poor picture quality

poor picture quality
After I have added video to my computer from my mini dv camcorder, the picture quality seems very poor and even worse when I put it to full screen. Is there something I can adjust to fix that will help? I'm using Video Studio 9 SE
Please read and comply with the PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE POSTING thread. Then tell us EXACTLY what you are doing, where your video source is, the VS settings/properties, the MPEG-2 settings, the project size etc. We cannot guess what you are doing.

Hi
For full quality you should capture your Mini ¡VDv via firewire.
In the capture window you should select DV as the format, also select Type 1 from the ¡¥options¡¦ cogwheel.
This will transfer your footage to the pc using Dv-Avi
These files are about 13 Gb per hour.
Your frame size should be 720 x 480
See my quick Guide to Avi from the link below.

AND, your clips are dv-avi, but your project is set for MPEG-2. Make sure your project settings match your clip settings.

select DV as the capture format.breeder44 wrote:Bill??? I used a firewire to capture. How do I change it from MPEG to DV- Avi?
Then Type 1 from Options cogwheel
If you see a Avi option, that should revert to DV, as you are connected to a Digital device.
