WINDVD Creator Errors?

Post by mac777daddy »

:?:

Hello I receive this error while trying to burn a .avi file to DVD via WinDVD Creator 2

"The editing contents might be out of DVD media capacity, will you continue"?

I hit continue then get another error

"The output size might be to large. Continue"?

The .avi file is only 700mb so not sure why it would be to large. Has anyone seen these errors before? Thanks

Your "avi is a highly compressed MPEG4 format which may be using one of the following codecs
MPEG4
DivX
Xvid

These formats are frequently used as a means of placing video on the internet and are popular with television Companies who now offer their programs for viewing that way.

A typical 1 hour video shot on a miniDV camcorder will be in DV which is a form of avi will occupy 13 GB of hard drive space.
A typical 1 hour MPEG4 video will occupy 700 MB of hard drive space.

DVD Videos are made up of VOB files, these are a form of MPEG2 and so any other format will have to be converted to MPEG2 to be placed onto a DVD Videi disc. Many software packages including WinDVD Creator offer you various quality levels such as
Best Quality
Standard Play
Long Play
Extended long Play etc.

It sounds like you will need to select one of the other quality levels.

I tried all options but none worked. I am not sure what the deal is. I burned another file of the same format and it burned just fine. This is the only file I am having issues with. I guess I will try to download another file to see if it just a file issue. Thanks
