Shadowy Recorded DVD On My TV . . . Should Be Crisp!

Post by oka »

I still have not gotten a "GOOD" final video to my taste with the digital technology. I did some tests.

EQUIPMENT:
Cable provider's cable DVD recorder.
Sony Vega 36" TV.
AverMedia UltraTV 1500 MCE capture card.

I recorded a program from the cable receiver. It plays very crispy on my TV. Best quality as expected!

TEST 1:
Recorded the above recorded video with a VCR to a VHS tape. I got an analog quality image on my TV. Almost like the original quality.

TEST 2:
Captured the same above video to my PC, it plays nice and crisp on my PC with VideoStudio, Media Player, or InterVideo players.

TEST 3:
When the video is edited and ready to be recorded on a DVD, it plays crisp on the preview window. When the video is created to a video file like the DVD MPG file, when tested, it is great.

PROBLEM:
After recording a DVD or VCD to the media, and play it on my home DVD player, the image on my TV does not look satisfactory. The texts, images such as people or other objects seem to have a very small shadow, and I would have a very faint broad line or shade on my TV, and virtical. Sometimes I get no lines. You really have to look well to notice it. The anoying things is that this is digital.

I expect to have a final product on my DVD disc when played on the TV as the original recoreded video.

The video is rendered and written to the disc with the best quality DVD NTSC settings.

Thanks to everyone in advance.
Caxtin. :D

How does that same DVD look when played on your PC? Does it have the same issues as your standalone DVD player/TV combination?

Video Plays Good On My PC

The video plays great on my PC, as good as the original when recored on the cable's provider's DVD.

My TV plays well with news, movies, and other. I only have the problem when I play the DVD I recorded. Rented DVD's play well.

I wish I can solve this issue.

Thanks
