Hi. Another newbie question¡K
I have just bought a video from SEEITDOIT¡KWhich, by the way, are an excellent buy, for VS11+¡K I¡¦ve been doing each video as an exercise I¡¦m now at transitions and I have struck a snag, when I go into MASKS, I only have 2 options. Option B & E, when I go to customize, I get a different box, than they use in the instructional Video. (Which I think was made originally for VS10) B gives virtually no options. E brings up almost the same box as the video, but there is no option box to let me go to what I think, are the installed template for me to use as MASK for the transition. Can anyone tell me how to find them? I¡¦ve downloaded everything there is unavailable at the ULEAD website. I¡¦ve also gone through the forums to try and find the answer, but so far no luck. If it is any help, I¡¦m working in the PAL format.
Many thanks for any help

I'm not real sure I understand, however the only A and B I find in the Mask Transitions are just indicators of Clip A and Clip B. That is if you're referring to the animation played in the library.
If you press the Customize icon you should get the following options window;

Here you can see there are numerous options available for customizing. Also the 2 screenshots are from VS11+ and VS10+ respectively. So if they are using VS10+ for the tutorial there is no difference.
Masks
This is where you can select the mask (shapes) to use. If you click on the square beneath Current, it opens a browse window, where you can navigate to any bitmap (BMP) file to import it into the Mask options. So you can create your own Masks, using any image editor such as PhotoImpact, PaintShop Pro, Gimp, and then use that mask in VS.
Middle Flash
Checking this box will create a "flash" in the middle of the transition. This is basically a bright white color that appears midway through the transition.
I'm not sure what the X or Y opposite actually do. It probably has to do with the horizontal and vertical aspects of the effect being applied.
The rest or pretty much self explanatory. Having the effect rotate, the level of Fade between the 2 clips, and then Inverting the effect.
I don't have access to the particular tutorial you're working on, so it is difficult to review and see where it may be causing you the problems.

What you have just shown me is exactly what I¡¦m on about. I¡¦m trying to make a slide show¡K Only when I go to customize the transition it brings up the folder that you indicate but the top part with the options for the MASK is NOT THERE. I¡¦d like to know where it is¡KAny clues.
Thanks for your reply.

If it is not there, you must not have fully installed VS. Did you install the content files when you installed the program? If not you should not have much in the way of transitions, or any sample video, image or audio clips, in any of the Libraries.
Next have you updated DirectX to the most current version? Go HERE and download the latest MS Direct-X drivers. The most current is dated Nov. '07.
Finally I'll ask are you using a full purchased version of VS or just the Trial version?
The TBYB (trial) version will not have all the transitions, just enough to entice you into purchasing.

No haven¡¦t installed the content file. I have been trying to contact Corel and so far they haven¡¦t replied to my email asking for a download link. I sometimes wonder if they have fled to South America with my $60!
I tried to download the content from a link that I think you posted, but when I tried to install it said the file was corrupt and to try again. I did and the result was the same.
I am right now downloading the latest drivers for direct-x.
I purchased the program as an electronic download and sweet ##### all came with it. I was even overcharged for another program that I didn¡¦t order and I¡¦m still trying to get my money back from them. Fair Dinkum Mate, this bloody Corel leaves a lot to be desired. I¡¦m thinking this was big mistake thinking about Ulead
I will now go and try to talk to them on the phone.
Thanks for your help. Do you know of a download link that works for the content?

Sorry about that, I updated the download link..
Here's the correct download link..

I'm currently downloading this file to test to see if it is or is not corrupt. If you are continuing to get corrupt downloads, especially with larger files, you may want to consider using a download manager such as Getright. You can find it by doing a Google search.

Hello I¡¦m back after two attempts I finally got the content to download after installing a download manager, as you said to. I¡¦ve installed Direct x and now I have heaps more in VS11Plus, all the things that I was bleating about are as they should be. Many thanks to you for going to the trouble you did. I can assure you that it was greatly appreciated.
Thanks again.
