Can Play some Blu Ray discs but not others

Hello,

I just Bought a Pioneer Pioneer BDC-2202B Blu-ray Disc/DVD/CD Combo Drive and it came with WinDVD 8. I bought 2 BluRay movies- the departed and 30 days of night.
I can play the departed just fine, it doesn't have a region code. Not a single problem. However, after I set winDVD for region A and tried to play 30 days of night it would just show a black screen. Nothing happens. I let it sit there for over 10 minutes while I made some food and it still didn't do anything.

I have tried turning off hardware acceleration, reinstalling several times, starting the program without the disc in and starting it with it in. NOTHING seems to work.

My hardware to play this thing is a GeForce 8 GTX, BenQ G2400W, 4GB ram, nVidia 680i MB, 500GB HD...I should have plenty of hardware to run bluray-the departed plays doesn't it? So why can I not get bluray discs with region codes to play?
