Problem w/ Robotiq timecoder

Post by kamnet »

I was hoping that Robotiq's timecoder would be the solution to my problem. I'm working on sports video, my problem is that I need a clock to countdown from a specific starting point (3 minutes), and to stop whenever the match ends (which isn't going to be 00:00 most of the time).

Robotiq's timecoder lets you pick a start time supposedly, but what I have found is that it actually just tacks that amount of time on to however long the video clip is. For example, if you set the start time to 3 minutes and your clip is two minutes long, then the clock actually starts at 5 minutes.

Unfortunately the idea of setting a camcorder in front of a clock and just recording it counting down isn't going to cut it, I have to use nice graphics. I definitely feel like I'm in over my head for this, so I'm open to any suggestions that can get me there. :-)

And nevermind... lack of sleep will sometimes exclude the obvious.

Desired start time minus length of clip = start time to put into Timecode.

If you need the clock to start at 03:00 and the clip is 01:15 long, then enter 01:45.

If only I had figured that out 17 hours ago.
