Hi:
Is there a best type of movie file to edit? My program locks up in the edit mode sometimes and it seems to be based on the type of file I am trying to edit?
Regards,

DV-AVI is generally considered the best type to edit. It is basically a lossless format that is rather slightly compressed. MPEG-2, though slightly compressed, is a lossy format. You will lose quality the more you edit and render.
Highly compressed formats such as MPEG-4, Xvid, DivX, WMV, etc. are meant to be viewed, not edited, and can cause problems.
