MFDiscCreator6 clip import limitations ?

Post by zippidtydoodah »

I've searched the forums and can't find detailed specs nor the manual for ver 6, although I'm told that even if I had the manual it may not produce an answer.

3.0 does everything I want to do until today. I'm trying to take clips from several different mini-dvds filmed with a Sony DVD cam.

I'm getting a pop of window telling me that 3.0 has a limitation of importing 99 clips. For the next little while, I have to combined lots of these clips onto one DVD or one DVD-DL.

Can anyone direct me to information/discussions on this?

Thanks

For that number of clips I think you are using the wrong software.
Try VideoStudio instead and then you can combine all those clips together to form one clip. Whilst this can be done with MovieFactory it is easier if you do so with VideoStudio.

That's probably due to the 99-title limit within the SD DVD specs.

Using a video editor (as Steve mentioned) will allow you to easily combine the separate clips into longer Titles.

...for a project with many video clips.

I already had VS9, rarely used it, always defaulting to MFDC. Thought it was only used for video editing, which on most videos up to now, MFDC had been able to handle the small amount of editing I needed.

I sat down with VS yesterday and gave it a thorough look thru....much to my surprise finding that not only does it do a smash job of editing, but also allows for my burning dvds with almost the same GUI as MFDC....

Thanks again for the snappy reply...I was so frustrated.
