Made slideshow but on dvd player wont select menus

When i make a slide show onto a dvd or make a movie with a menu once completed i cant select the menu options they dont highlight or allow the dvd player remote to select them therefor you cannot get into the file to watch it.

Has anyone else had this problem if so please help thank you.

what version of MovieFactory are you running

If the full purchased version, have you applied the update patches

im using dvd movie factory 6 full version and have applied patch 2

Please describe your work flow.
It should be something along the lines of
1. Open MovieFactory
2. Import Videos / slides
3. Create Chapters (if required)
4. Select one of several available menu templates
5. Preview the Menu using the onscreen DVD remote
6. If it all works as expected continue to the burning screen.

yes that is as descibed it all works fine with on screen remote but when put into any dvd player you cannot select the menus and have tried it with several different dvd players and movie compilations.
