Vista and Videostudio 10+

Post by Howell »

I have just ordered a new laptop with Vista system on it. Just wondering if anyone has been using Videostudio 10+ with Vista and if it works ok.

Thanks

Wrong version (s)he is asking about version ten.
You have to install the Vista Update Patch from the Ulead website.
Version ten was created before Vista. You dont need the patch for version eleven because that was after vista.

I just asked because I dont want to go out to buy 11+ if the next version is around the corner. Traditionally, it is about this time of year that Ulead announce a new version.

Thanks

Sorry but I have not yet received any news regarding the release of VideoStudio 12. I normally get at least one weeks notice.

I can confirm a release will be forthcoming as over the past 12 months I have been asked for opinions about certain ideas the developers have had.

I recently upgraded my computer to vista, before I installed the vista pack I found (UVS10+):
- No video capture
- no sound when previewing, but
- mp4 and divx editing
- more transitions
- burning disc supported
- divx files creation
After I installed the vista pack:
- Video capture
- sound when previewing but,
- No mp4 or divx support
- Fewer transitions
- I cannot burn a disc (VS freezes)
- no suitable format to export to my iphone.

No problems for VS10+ on Vista, but only after you download and install the right patch as already mentioned few posts ago.

Alessandro.

It seems that Ulead disabled some features from UVS10 that work in XP but not in Vista after installing the Vista patch (e.g. mp4 support, some transitions, etc.), maybe it is only a policy to push for an upgrade to UVS11

Before investing in VS11/11+ I would hang on a short while.
VS12 has been released in Japan and so we are checking on a regular basis for signs of its release elsewhere.

S...t! I've bought 11+ one week ago!
I hope I can have an free upgrade (well, I don't think so! ), or a good discount, at least.

As far as the transitions go, it's a Vista issue. Some just won't work under Vista.
