Cannot open newly downloaded Ulead Video Studio 11 Plus

Post by davedawn »

I purchased the download version of Ulead Video Studio 11 Plus today. I have spent the last few hours trying to make it work.
Installed, uninstalled, used hot fix, reinstalled. No matter what, this is the message I get when I launch it.

Ulead VideoStudio has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. Can anybody help me please?

I cannot find an FAQ or support with this problem

Try installing it by right clicking on the executable installer file and selecting "Run as Administrator"

We will see how you go from there...

What you can do now and after trying the above is have a look at the "Event Viewer" for clues as to what caused the crash.

Do you have any Ulead applications/programs previously installed? Any beta/trailed versions installed on your PC? If so Uninstall them. Make sure you uninstall them cleanly, reboot your PC and try it again.

It is a new computer with no previous Ulead applications. I did install WinDVD Creator first but they said it is not compatible with Vista, so I uninstalled it and then ordered the Ulead program.

The computer did com with Cyberlink DVD Suite (lite version) and I also have Adobe Premiere Pro on the computer, but I spoke with the tech support guy and he said there shouldn't be imcompatibility issues.

Tech support said it was probably a bad install and sent instructions to uninstall and clean out any residual files which I did, but when I reloaded, the exact same thing happened. It says it is installed properly but I cannot get past the opening splash screen.

Unfortunately tech support is not available again until Monday, so I cannot use the program and don't know where to go from here.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. I will try Clevo's suggestions in the meantime.

Extract the files to a hard drive folder with winzip and then run setup.exe
