Display Source Volume Level not available

I read a post some time back about a setting in one of the .ini files that allowed turned on the volume controls during record but I can't find it now. This option is grayed out, how do I activate it?

The source volume control is only available when capturing analogue video - it is not available when capturing Digital Video
